About the Role

Westbrook Animal Hospital in Burlington, NC, is looking for a veterinary assistant to add to their dedicated team. Position Requirements:

• Able to safely restrain dogs and cats for medical exams and procedures.
• Provides animal care by determining animal requirements.
• Monitors, adjusts, and documents anesthesia and patient’s vitals while under anesthesia.
• Feed and care for animals.
• Maintains supplies and equipment.
• Maintains electronic records.
• Completes laboratory tests and studies, and digital imaging.
• Takes vital signs and collects lab samples.
• Administers medication, drugs, and vaccines.
• Supports animal examinations by assembling required supplies and instruments.
• Explains animal status to owners.
• Prepares surgery instruments.
• Maintains a safe, secure, healthy, and humane environment by sterilizing and wrapping instruments, sanitizing surgery areas, verifying shelf life of medications, and complying with legal regulations.
