Celebrating the Legacy of Dr. Nick Madarasz
After over 40 years of dedicated veterinary service, Dr. Nick Madarasz, Chief of Staff at Westbrook Animal Hospital, will officially retire on December 20th.
Dr. Madarasz’s journey in veterinary medicine began in Budapest, Hungary, where he earned his doctorate degree at the University of Veterinary Science. In 1981, he moved to North Carolina and began his career in Kannapolis, where he worked for over a year before settling in Alamance County. There, he spent six years at a mixed animal practice, caring for both large and small animals.
With a passion for small animal medicine and a vision for the future, Dr. Madarasz opened his first small animal practice in Kernersville in 1989. Soon after, on December 22, 1992, he expanded his dream and established Westbrook Animal Hospital in Burlington. Since 1998, when he sold his practice in Kernersville, Westbrook Animal Hospital has been Dr. Madarasz’s sole focus, where he built a reputation for compassionate care, clinical excellence, and genuine dedication to his patients and their families.
Over the decades, Dr. Madarasz has touched the lives of countless pets and their owners. His steady presence, extensive knowledge, and kind-hearted approach have made a lasting impact on the Burlington community. Colleagues, staff, and clients alike will forever remember his unwavering commitment to improving the health and well-being of every animal under his care.
As Dr. Madarasz embarks on this well-deserved retirement, we reflect on his legacy: a career defined by hard work, compassion, and a true love for veterinary medicine. While he will be greatly missed, his influence on Westbrook Animal Hospital and the community will endure for years to come.
We extend our deepest gratitude to Dr. Madarasz for his decades of service and wish him all the best in this next chapter of life.
Thank you, Dr. Madarasz, for everything!
